Chevy can go into someones mind to see their memories and Seneca has the ability to mimic gifts, so he mimics Chevy's. They both have gifts and work for the police partners force. I forgot how much I enjoyed the Chevy and Seneca.
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review This is the first book I’ve read by Alice Winters but absolutely won’t be the last. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of action and twists and I just couldn’t put it down.Ĭhevy and Seneca are in a permanent state of banter with each other and I read the book with a continual smile on my face! I just loved the chemistry and humour between the two of them, it was brilliant and a lot of fun. They are approached by the police to enter the mind of a serial killer, but it appears he has a gift himself and he locks Chevy and Seneca in his mind in a nightmare world of his own creation where the duo struggle to survive. To help Chevy’s reports stand up in court he is partnered with Seneca so that there are two witnesses to the crime. Seneca meanwhile has a gift where, to some extent, he can mimic other’s gifts if he is in physical contact with them. who attacked them if they didn’t see the attack. Chevy has a gift where he can access people’s memories and he works with victims of crime to help them discover e.g. This book was incredible!! The book has so much potential to be the start of a series and I really hope it is as I’d love to read more books featuring Chevy and Seneca. Within the Mind is a 90k word romantic suspense with lots of snark, an ominous gramophone, and finger cuddling, because we all know spooning isn’t as great as it sounds. As the two are forced to face what is keeping them apart, together they realize that there’s more to the mind and heart than either of them know. It will take everything Chevy and Seneca can give to stop the darkness that could consume their minds. The dark world draws the two men together in a way they never dreamed. Drawn into a memory where it’s hard to figure out where the truth exists, they realize that there may be more to the serial killer than they originally thought. They are even more unprepared for the monsters they find inside the man’s mind. But neither Chevy nor Seneca are prepared when they are asked to go into the mind of a serial killer in hopes of finding survivors. He delves into their memories and can pick out minute details that will help them put the criminal behind bars. As detective, he uses this ability to find peace for victims who have been hurt or attacked.
